Opened in 1927, R.A. Long High School stands as a historic monument and a reminder to the Longview community of its roots, and founder, Robert Alexander Long’s commitment to education. We are committed to provide the best possible educational experience for all students who walk through our halls. The motto for the Lumberjacks and Lumberjills is Respect - Achieve -Lead. Sportsmanship and learning to be a good teammate is a priority for all student athletes as we develop our future leaders.
"This school, a gift to the City of Longview by Robert A. Long, was designed by William B. Ittner. The two story Corinthian columns and clock tower dominates the Georgian Revival style. The 900-seat auditorium serves as an educational and cultural center. The building and grounds are listed on the National Register of Historic Places."
