How long are physicals good for?

At RA Long we accept physicals for two (2) years.

Athletes at this age are growing and changing rapidly, and a yearly physical for sports is in the best interest of the student athlete. If your athlete’s physical expires during their season, they will need to submit an updated one to the Athletic Office by the expiration date in order to remain eligible to participate.

Can my student participate in practices without being cleared?

No. Students must be cleared through the Athletic Office prior to their first practice. They cannot turn forms into their coach.

 How does a student get cleared to practice/compete?

An athlete is cleared to participate when they COMPLETE ALL of the following:

1. Complete the registration online.  NEW SYSTEM COMING SOON!
2. Athlete must have an updated and current sports physical on file with the Athletic Office prior to their first practice.
3. Athlete must have paid for (obtained) an ASB Card ($45)
4. All athletes are required to have a current medical insurance policy in order to participate in sports.  If you do not have private medical insurance, the Longview School District partners with Myers-Stevens & Toohey for Student Accident Insurance (click here).
5. Return any prior years/seasons books/uniforms/gear and pay all prior fines/fees/obligations.

What are the grade requirements for participation? 

Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA or above.  Here at RA Long, we have a grade check process for all student athletes.   To read more, click here. 

To protect all prospective student athletes, the State of Washington has mandated (per RCW 21A.400.350) that all participants be enrolled in a current insurance program and/or participate in the District's accidental medical insurance program. 

When completing paperwork for your child, you will be required to provide either proof of your own insurance, or enroll in the District's accidental medial insurance program. This district's current provider of accidental medical insurance is Myers, Stevens, and Toohey.

There are no paper registration forms.  Please click on the Registration tab for more information.  All athletes are required to have a current physical (form available below).

Ticket Prices are determined by the 2AGSHL League. 

• $7.00 - Adults and Students (without ASB)
• $5.00 - Visiting Students (with ASB), Active Military, Veterans, Students Grades K-8
• FREE - Age 5 and under, Senior Citizens 65+, RAL Student w/ ASB

Season passes are available for purchase in the ASB Office Monday - Friday, between 7:00 - 3:00.  

Family Pass - Covers admission for immediate family to HOME games, excluding tournaments and District playoffs.  Family members must reside within the same household.  NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Individual Pass - Covers admission for ONE Individual to HOME games, excluding tournaments and District playoffs.  NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Prices:

• Fall - Family $50 / Individual $35
• Winter - Family $85 / Individual $50
• Spring - Family $50 / Individual $35

Several coaches offer late Spring and Summer workouts, not related to regular WIAA Sports Season(s).

• Football - Late May through June - "Spring Football" - Requires athlete registration online
