Student Resources

The Staff of R.A. Long is always here to help! Below are some common areas that students may need assistance.  This guide will help direct you to the correct person to address your needs.

  • When you are absent from school, call 575-7113 to report your absence 24 hours a day.
  • When leaving early from school, call ahead at 575-7113 OR have a parent/guardian write a note to bring to the front office.
  • If you are feeling ill during school, visit the nurse’s office and the nurse will call.

In partnership with the Longview Police Department, the R.A. Long School Resource Officer (SRO) is available during school hours for all police issues and stolen items.

Noteworthy Dates to Know for March 2024:

  • March 1 - Advisory Friday
  • March 4 - 8 - Tolo Dance Passes available and due no later than March 8 at 3:00 pm.
    • Not sure if you need a dance pass?  Read the rules HERE
  • March 5 - Student Schedule Forecasting BEGINS (SY 2024/25) - Students will meet with Counselors
  • March 8 – Previously a no school day – THERE IS SCHOOL THIS DAY!
  • March 9 - Be the Change Weekend (Leadership Only)
  • March 11 – 14 – Tolo tickets on sale in the ASB Office (Lunches, After School) - Tickets will NOT be sold at the dance.
    • Ticket Prices
      • ASB - $8
      • No ASB - $10
  • March 14  - 10:55 EARLY RELEASE - Students will attend periods 1-3
  • March 14 - Student Lead Conferences - 12:00 - 6:00 - Classrooms
  • March 15  - 10:55 EARLY RELEASE - Students will attend periods 4-6
  • March 16 – Tolo – 9-11 pm – RA Long Cafeteria
  • March 19, 20 & 21 Cheer Clinics – 5:00 – 7:00 – RA Long Main Gym
    • Clinics are REQUIRED for Try-Outs
    • Must be Registered on Family ID
    • Must have a current physical on file in the ASB Office
  • March 21 – Perry Tech College will be on Campus for a visit – 5th period (12:30 – 1:25)
  • March 21 – Band Concert – 7:30 pm
  • March 22 – Advisory Friday
  • March 22 – 16th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony – 5:30 pm – Auditorium
  • March 23Cheer Try-Outs – Begin at 8:30 am – RA Long Gym
    • Must have completed 3 clinics, registered on Family ID, completed and signed your application and reference letters in order to try out!
  • March 26 – 8th Grade Student Forecasting – Mt. Solo
  • March 26 – All Choir Concert – 7:30 pm
  • March 28 - 8th Grade Student Forecasting – Monticello
  • March 29 Friends of St John Scholarship applications DUE

Dear Senior Parents/Guardians of all RA LONG SENIOR STUDENTS:

The yearbook staff’s annual fundraiser offers a creative way to show how proud you are of your graduating senior by publishing a senior ad in the yearbook. These ads can include (2 pictures) a baby picture, current picture and a message to your son or daughter. Please submit all ad materials together. Below are directions on how to submit your information. Unfortunately, we cannot hold an ad space or process your order until we have all of your ad materials and payment. All ads must be received no later than March 31, 2024.

How to submit your photos and message:

Parents and students can email pictures to ralyearbook2022@longviewschools.org

Use the subject line: Senior Ad for [Student’s First and Last Name]

Include your contact information as well as the message you want in the email.

 

You should receive a reply email from ralyearbook2022@longviewschools.org . If you do not receive an email within 48 hours then your email was not received and you will want to call Jodi Kruse at 360.575.7138. 

Pricing:

  • 1/8 page: $45
  • 1/4 Page: $75
  • 1/2 Page: $100

Payment can be made anytime between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday in the ASB Office.  We accept Cash, Check and now Debit/Credit Cards.
